ahlyss's first bday party

k so yesterday we took ahlyssa to her one year doctor appointment. she got 4 shots plus a prick in the toe, she lost weight, found out she has brochitias, has really REALLY sensitive skin (like when we just touch her she turns a deep shade of red), and she is anemic. luckily all of that is fixable and not horrible news. i felt so bad because for a week now she has had brochitias and i never took her in but they don't do anything for it anyway so we'll just have to wait it out--doc said it takes like 4-6 weeks for the cough to go away...what?!
for her skin we are supposed to apply adult lotion to toughen her skin up. i thought maybe she was allergic to the lotion we were using. didn't know someone could be that sensitive to touch!
i knew when doctor said she was going to do a test for anemia that she would be. i have been anemic for probably my entire life so i figured as much. we just have to give her drops.
she's lost weight which was a complete surprise to us. she really likes to eat so that shocked us. but she has been sick this week and about 2 weeks ago she had a little virus. her weight is in the 65 percentile and height is 98!! my big little girl!

she was playing with her skirt and it snapped back at her and was hiked up her belly. looked hilarious!!

i really thought ahlyssa would go crazy with the cake but she was so dainty about it!

then sucked every last bit off! haha

we had a great time and are so lucky to have such great friends and family. we missed those of you that couldn't be there!
