May 2nd came WAY TOO FAST. That was the Capital City Commit to be Fit 5k. Although I knew the date, I wasn't thinking about the run too much. I am so glad Erika "made" me do this. I am trying to get Brian to do this next one with me. I am thinking about doing one this summer and actually run the entire thing. I finished in 36 minutes. I was hoping to run it in under 40 minutes and I beat my goal. I ran for probably about 2.2 miles and the rest I walked. The next one I will be running the entire thing and hopefully under 30 minutes. And when I beat that, I want to do a half marathon. There is something different about running with 1500-2000 other people in a designated course and an actual finish line then just going outside and running on your own. I am now addicted! Erika and I had no camera, so no pictures :(
Ahlyssa chillin' before we headed off to church.
We also took Ahlyssa to the zoo on Saturday (not that she cared much, just an excuse to go, right?!). We went with some friends and it was a lot of fun. The weather was great and not too crowded AND Ahlyssa and Cale were SO good which makes for an even better time! We forgot to charge the battery on our camera so we didn't get very many pictures. I LOVED the little monkeys and there was a baby monkey and he was just too cute! (no picture :( Then we went to dinner at Olive Garden-that it was SO YUMMY!
This little guy looked so completely fake...but he wasn't (at least I think he isn't)

manatee
stingray grubbin on lettuce right in front of us!
sleepy cheetah
grumpy gorilla
this is the look Brian gets and.....
...here's the look I get!
Ahlyssa is now sleeping in her crib! That was a big step! It was hard the first night. Because her bedroom is separated between the living room from our bedroom, I put an alarm on the front door. I was checking the window, her monitors, the front door, the alarms, everything to make sure we can see/hear her and that everything was locked. But we made it through and she has been there the last 2 nights! She is starting to get out of her swaddle...don't think we are going to be able to do this much longer. Anyway have to post have the sleeping-all-crazy picture.

cute pics! if ahlyssa likes being swaddled, i recommend the kiddpatomus swaddles. they're only about $10 and miles can't get out of them. he started sleeping MUCH better when we started swaddling him with one :-)
I ran a 5k in Indianapolis this weekend. I actually signed up for the half marathon, but didn't train long enough. YOU can do it!!!
That is the best sting ray picture ever, it looks like he is smiling!
Transitioning your baby to their crib through the night is a hard step I agree! It takes a while to get use to but my girls always loved being in their cribs...Ember still does :)
