Today was my 36 week check up and things are looking a little
s-l-o-w coming. She said that I was only dilated
ONE centimeter. At first I was quite
disappointed, but I am starting to think about my life with a child. I think I can hold out this pregnancy thing for another 4 weeks without much complaining. Don't get me wrong I can not wait to meet my little girl but I
love my sleep (well the sleep that I do get), I
love the time that me and Brian do get alone, I
love being able to just walk out the door with just me and my purse (although my purse is the size of a diaper bag), and I
love the fact that I don't have a
constant worry about where, with whom, and what my child is doing. I know she is safe and sound inside of me. So for the time being I will
embrace the rest of my pregnancy with little complaining. I will
enjoy every kick of the rib, every jab of the bladder, and rhythmed hiccup. I will
embrace my "hobbit" feet and sausage toes. I will
enjoy my quiet, warm, comfortable bed.
But don't worry ask me any day and I will know exactly how many days until February 10th. (29 more!)

You have it all exactly right :)
I was 1 centimeter. dilated with Ava at 36 weeks....I was so sure I was going to have her early, but ended up being induced...with Ember same thing 1cm at 36 weeks....induction with her too, haha. I finally just realized relaxing & taking on the same attitude you have is the best for both Mommy & baby. Plus being pregnant is so fun.
Really though you could go from 1 centimeter to 10 in no time so really who know, you may have a baby in a week & a half! I can't wait to hear your birth story. I really believe that a positive attitude goes a long way when it comes to how your labor & delivery goes. Take it easy these next few weeks :)
i was just about to say what britni said: you could dilate really fast so who knows? i am just praying baby z waits until after mark gets here so that he and i can have 1 day to get ready and have a last night out. hope you have a comfortable and relaxing last few weeks!
Yeah, just like they said. I was dilated to a "1+" (that's what the nurse called it) about 8 hours before Chaela was born, and I wasn't induced, I went in because my water broke. Everyone is different!
By the way, I love reading your blog. You're such a positive person that it's always an uplifting experience!
I loved loved loved Olivia inside me. I didn't know the sex but knew the baby was safe inside me and when it came down to my 40th week I was scared to not have her where ever I went anymore... not knowing what was going to happen and not having control of the situation that was goign to take place scared me! I think you have a great attitude for your next 4 weeks! Best wishes!
This is such a sweet post! You are amazing, I just LOVE you! So, we're not telling anyone what we're having until after the Family Baby Shower, but I'll tell you! I'm having a boy! Don't tell anyone in my extended family (not that you know my extended family! haha).
