Well let me tell y'all the story (whether you care or not)....
I went over Erika's about 6:30 to help her a bit (although most things were done). People started showing up and just chatting. I was sitting in the front room (by the front door) with some gals and Erika was in the kitchen so it only made sense for me to answer the door when guests arrived. I think about 3 times guests showed up and the lovely ladies that I invited told me to stay put and she would answer the door. Well, about the fourth time around I think everyone was way into their conversations, so I got up and answered the door and you'll NEVER guess who was standing on the other side.......MY BEAUTIFUL MOTHER!
I looked at her for a second in either disbelief or shock or whatever but then I suddenly screamed "MOM!" startling everyone in the room and busted into tears! I could not believe my mom was there. Still brings tears to my eyes because I cannot tell you how much I wanted her there. Erika and my mom pulled every secret string possible for me to not ever know she was coming and they planned this in the summer! Erika called off my work from Uno telling me that we had to start trading weekends because so many servers wanted more hours (that's why I wasn't scheduled). She wanted me to babysit that Friday so I called of Children's Orchard a few months before that and all along it was so I could have more time to be with my mom since she was only in town that Wednesday night to Monday afternoon (although I didn't see her until Thursday evening).
Anyway, after all the excitement and tears of joy the shower moved on. A lot of women showed up and we received a lot of needful and adorable things. We played some fun games and ate some yummy nachos and pink lemonade. Everything was PINK and so cute! Along with many other wonderful gifts, my mom made the baby a baby blanket...for all of those who know me well enough know about my bebe. It goes everywhere with me and I STILL sleep with it every night. My mom made one for the baby that looks almost identical as mine (did 20 years ago). Now me and Ahlyssa can have bebes together.....oh how exciting! :)
I am so grateful to have such wonderful women around me that love me and are such a great example.

That's so great your mom could come! :-) And hey, you've gotten a lot farther on Ahlyssa's nursery than we have on Baby Z's!
